The Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (“the Act’) was introduced by the Government to regulate the processing of personal data in commercial transactions. This privacy and Personal Data Protection Policy is issued to all our immediate and/or prospective customers, suppliers and employees that identify you as individual, such as your name, postal address, telephone number or email address. The Act requires us to inform you of your rights in respect of your personal data that is being processed or that is to be collected and further processed by us and the purposes for the data processing.
1.Collection of Personal Data
In the course of your dealings with Golden Tropics Travel & Tours Sdn Bhd and/or any its the subsidiaries (“Golden Tropics Travel”), the type of Personal Data that we collect directly from you or from third parties may include but not limited to information concerning your full name, date of birth, identity card information, passport information, home / billing address, contact information, e-mail address, current and savings account number and bank statement, credit card number and expiry, tax file identification number, EPF number and SOCSO number.
We may also collect directly from you or from third parties may include but not limited to information concerning your airline preference, seating preference, hotel preference, frequent flyer or loyalty program number, dietary requirement, health issue relevant to your travel arrangements.
2.Source of Personal Data
The Personal Data will be collected, processed and used by us are sourced from wholly legitimate and transparent mean such as:
a.When making an enquiry with us via telephone, email or in person;
b.When making a reservations with us via telephone, email or in person;
c.Via any online sites owned and managed by Golden Tropics Travel;
d.Under any contractual agreement or arrangement;
e.Via a third party.
3.Purpose of Collection of Personal Data
The Personal Data will be collected, processed and used by us for the following purposes:
a. the delivery of notices, services or products and the marketing of such services or products whether present or future, to you;
b.the maintenance and upkeep of customer records and development;
c.those purposes specifically provided for in any particular service or product offered by us or our partners;
d.processing, confirming, fulfilling and completing your travel related transaction e.g. application of visas, insurance, flight bookings, hotel bookings, tours and meals booking;
e.purposes of accounting (billing and payment).
We may also share your personal information with: –
a. service providers under contract who help with our business operations such as airlines, hotels, car rental, tour operators, wholesalers who will fulfill your travel reservations;
b.business partners with whom we may jointly offer products or services;
c.where require by law in the good faith belief that disclosure is necessary to comply with applicable laws or legal processes.
4.Right of Access and Correction
The Act allows you the right to access the personal data you have submitted. You may access, review and amend your Personal Data held by us in person at our office located at the address given below or by contacting us at the email address listed below.
5.Data Protection
Your Personal Data will be kept and processed in a secured manner. We will take appropriate steps to protect your privacy.
a.Credit card and bank details are used only for payments;
b. Passport details are used only for flight bookings, travel insurance and visa application;
c.We do not share or sell any of the information that you have provided us via our channels to any other companies or individuals without your permission.
6.Children/Kids Privacy
Children under the age of 18 are requested to not submit, post or share your information with us, without parent’s or guardian’s consent.
Information of children under the age of 18 would only be collected to process bookings of flights, hotels, tour activities, cruises and other travel services we provide. Information should only be provided by parent or guardian.
7.Consequences of Refusal / Failure to Provide Personal Data
The Personal Data provided to us are wholly voluntary in nature and you are not under any obligation or under any duress to do so. However, failure to disclose sufficient Personal Data may result in us being unable to provide you with the full range of services.
8.Updates to the Privacy Notice
We would amend this Privacy notice from time to time according to the laws. The updated version shall apply and supersede all the previous versions.
